Garikai is a seasoned commercial and corporate lawyer. He commenced practice with the law firm of Gill, Godlonton & Gerrans (GG&G) in December 1992. He joined the financial services group, Old Mutual, in December 1995 as a Legal Advisor. He returned to legal practice in June 1998 when he joined the commercial law firm of Dube, Manikai & Hwacha (DMH) as a founding partner in the Commercial & Financial Services Unit specializing in commercial and corporate law. Garikai practised with DMH until March 2009. In April 2009 he left practice to join Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Private) Limited, a leading platinum mining house in Zimbabwe, where he was subsequently appointed as the company’s Legal Counsel & Company Secretary.
During this period, Garikai acquired in-depth experience in mining, governance and commercial law matters and transactions. Garikai is interested in all areas of commercial, corporate and mining law transactions and related services.
